March 6th Program Details
Featured Speaker: Ms. Sallyann Marable Hobson
Program Title: “Tips For Producing Your Visual Family History Display”

The Granville County Genealogical Society 1746, Inc. will hold it’s March 6, 2008 meeting at the Thornton Library with Sallyann Hobson as the featured speaker. Ms. Hobson was born in Newark, New Jersey and is the eldest daughter of Mrs. Ann DeMarino Marable and the late Mr. Edward B. Marable (an Oxford native). She earned her Associate Degree in Illustration from the Parsons School of Design in New York City, NY. Ms. Hobson is a recently retired medical graphic artist with 30 years of federal civilian service and 27 years of military service in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

After leaving federal service in June 2007, Ms. Hobson settled in southern Granville County, NC and is presently a resident of Stem. As a member of the Granville County Genealogical Society, Ms. Hobson looks forward to continued genealogy research and immersion in North Carolina culture.

Have you ever wanted to have a chart or visual display of your family genealogy? If so, this meeting is for you! Ms. Sallyann Hobson will discuss and offer some basic strategies for planning and producing your own visual family history display. She will also touch on some general principles for working with digital imagery, basic color and design techniques, and simple typography. Suggestions for production materials, presentation options, and considerations for professional production will be shared at this meeting.

Members and guests are encouraged to attend what promises to be an outstanding program. The meeting, to be held at the Thornton Library Conference Room, will begin at 6:30 P.M. on March 6, 2008. The meeting is open to the public.
