2021 Meeting Programs

September 2nd Program Details
Featured Speaker: Ms. Peggy Woodlief Johnson
"Women of the South"

The program for the September 2, 2021 meeting of the Granville County Genealogical Society will be presented by Mrs. Peggy Woodlief Johnson, who will give a presentation on "Women of the South." There were times when brave women stepped out of their accustomed places and did all that was necessary for the survival of their families and communities. Women of the South looks at 26 women from 1860 through 1920 and their contributions that altered the course of history.

Peggy was born and raised in Granville County, graduating from Oxford High School. She is married to Troy Johnson who also is a Granville County native. Both have many family members in Granville County today.

Please join members of the Granville County Genealogical Society in attending this meeting, to be held at 6:30 P.M. on September 2, 2021 in the conference room at the Richard H. Thornton Library in Oxford, N.C. All GCGS meetings are open to the public, and visitors and guests are always cordially invited to attend.
