Featured Speaker: John Wilson

Program Title: “Roaming Around Southern Granville County”

The Granville County Genealogical Society welcomes John Wilson back to it’s May 4, 2006 meeting. About two years ago, he presented a program to the society during which he discussed his book "Roaming Around Northern Granville County." Since then he has published another book, this one called "Roaming Around Southern Granville County"; John will focus on this book during his presentation.

John and his wife, the former Rose Blackwell, live in the Mountain Creek section of Granville County and are retired from NC State University. For twenty four years he was professor and head of the State Pesticide Education Program at NC State University in Raleigh. Since his retirement, he has devoted considerable time and effort to researching and writing about the people and history of Granville County.

John is a well informed and interesting speaker and all members and visitors are cordially invited to attend this program at 6:30 PM at the Richard H. Thornton Library in Oxford on May 4, 2006.
