2006 Meeting Programs December 7th Program DetailsFeatured Speaker: Dr. Richard L. Taylor The Granville County Genealogical Society, 1746 will hold it’s December meeting and annual Christmas party at the Richard H. Thornton Library at 6:30 PM on December 7, 2006. The program for the evening will be presented by Dr. Richard L. Taylor, who will share some thoughts on the use of photography in genealogy. Dr. Taylor was born and raised in Oxford and attended the local public schools. He earned AB and MD degrees from the University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following graduation from medical school, he did two years of postgraduate work at City Hospitals in Baltimore, Maryland. After finishing his training, he spent the next two years in the Navy; then returned to Oxford to enter the practice of Family Medicine, which he continued for 34 years until he retired in 2000. Since retirement he has been active in historical and genealogical research. Some of the topics to be touched on during the presentation will include types of photographs, care and archiving of photographs, retouching and repair of photographs and dating of photographs. If you have any photographs that you would like discussed, please bring it (them) to this meeting. The meeting will be held in the conference room at the library at 6:30 PM on December 7, 2006.
