Program Title: "Bible Records"
NOTE: This is the 2nd Thursday in January

The Granville County Genealogical Society 1746, Inc will meet at the Richard Thornton Library conference room on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 6:30 PM. The topic for the speaker at this meeting will be Bible Records.  The society is presently preparing a collection of bible records for publication.  While working on this collection some of the members have discovered gold.  It is felt that this collection will be a major resource tool for genealogists looking for ancestors in this area of the state.  The speaker for the evening, Mildred Goss, will let you know what you can find and what to look for in these records.

Mildred is the organizer of the Granville County Genealogy Society and is the current president.  She is serving as the Editor of the society newsletter and journal as well.  She has researched and published a book on her Currin family and will quickly tell you if you are related to her.  She is an active member of three lineage societies and is currently serving as president of the Creedmoor Chamber of Commerce.  In addition she is a member of the Creedmoor Planning Board.

The monthly meetings are open to the public and guests are welcome.  Guests and members are encouraged to attend this meeting of the society at 6:30 PM January 8, 2009 at the Richard H. Thornton Library on Main Street in Oxford, NC.
