Featured Speaker: Mr. John Wilson

The speaker for the November 3, 2011 meeting of the Granville County Genealogical Society will be John Wilson who will discuss his new book.

John is a native of Granville County and is a successful retired agricultural researcher. He and his wife, also a Granville County native, moved back to northern Granville County after he left work with N.C.State University. Since his retirement he has written three books on the history and locations of many Granville County people and landmarks. He reports that his latest book will include a collection of fifty-five short stories about local events, people and legends from twenty different authors. Not only are the stories interesting, but the experiences of gathering the information and putting it all together has proved to be interesting in it's own right. During his presentation, John will tell of some of these experiences as well as some of the stories in the book.

Please join with other members of the society to hear what promises to be a very interesting program at 6:30 PM November 3, 2011 in the large conference room at the Richard H. Thornton Library on Main Street in Oxford. All meetings of the Genealogical society are open and guests are cordially invited to attend.

All GCGS meetings are open to the public and guests are cordially invited to attend.
