Featured Speaker: Mr. L.C. Adcock

The Granville County Genealogical Society 1746, Inc. will have for its May 3, 2012 meeting a program presented by Mr. L. C. Adcock.  He will speak about the consolidation and integration of the Granville County School System, a subject that he is uniquely qualified to discuss as he was the school superintendent at the time that this occurred.

Mr. Adcock is a lifelong resident of Granville County, having been born in the northern part of the county.  In addition to being a long time school superintendent, he has served as a county commissioner and for the past several years he has helped guide the Granville Health System to a remarkable period of growth and prosperity while serving as the Chairman of the Health System Board of Trustees.  Recognizing his long, dedicated service to Granville County, he was presented the John Penn Award by the Granville County Chamber of Commerce, their highest service award, in January 2012.

All interested people are invited to join with the society members to hear this presentation by Mr. Adcock at 6:30 PM on May 3, 2012 in the small conference room at the Richard H. Thornton Library on Main Street in Oxford.

All GCGS meetings are open to the public and guests are cordially invited to attend.
