Featured Speaker: Michael Felts
"The Granville County Library System"
The program for the September 6, 2018 meeting of the Granville County Genealogical Society will be a presentation by Michael Felts, Granville County Manager, on "The Granville County Library System." Topics will include future plans for the Library System and especially the Richard Thornton Library in Oxford.
Michael is an active volunteer currently working with the Oxford Rotary Club, Oxford Boy Scout Troop 637, and Parents for Oxford Scouting. Michael and his family attend Promised Land Community Church in Creedmoor, where he serves as chair for the Finance Committee & and leads the Men's ministry. In association with his position with Granville County Government, he serves on several community boards; Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, Franklin-Granville-Vance Smart Start, Granville Education Foundation, Granville County Chamber of Commerce, and Granville County Human Relations Council to name a few.
Michael's hobbies include reading, hiking, & camping. However, he professes he does not take the time to enjoy these activities often enough.
Please join members of the Granville County Genealogical Society in attending this meeting, to be held at 6:30 P.M. on September 6, 2018 in the conference room at the Richard H. Thornton Library in Oxford, N.C. All GCGS meetings are open to the public, and visitors and guests are always cordially invited to attend.
