2019 Meeting Programs

February 7th Program Details
Featured Speaker: Adlai "Pembo" Woodlief
"Early African-American Recorded Music"

The program for the February 7, 2019 meeting of the Granville County Genealogical Society will be presented by Mr. Adlai "Pembo" Woodlief.

Mr. Woodlief will give a presentation on Early African-American Recorded Music. This type of music was a predecessor to the Rock & Roll music that followed. This promises to be an informative and entertaining presentation by one of Granville County's well known citizens.

Mr Woodlief was born in Henderson and has been a life long resident of Granville County. He graduated from South Granville High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His avocation is the collecting of artifacts and his major interests include ephemera and items from Granville County and surrounding areas. Along with the items Pembo has collected, he has amassed an amazing amount of knowledge about Granville, and surrounding areas, people and history.

Please join members of the Granville County Genealogical Society in attending this meeting, to be held at 6:30 P.M. on February 7, 2019 in the conference room at the Richard H. Thornton Library in Oxford, N.C. All GCGS meetings are open to the public, and visitors and guests are always cordially invited to attend.
