2021 Meeting Programs July 1st Program Details The program for the July 1, 2021 meeting of the Granville County Genealogical Society will be presented by Ms. Jessie McLam. She will present a program on "Death Records Research" covering a lot of what you will find in death records during your research. This promises to be an interesting presentation. Upon graduation from Campbell College, McLam was employed by the Granville County Department of Social Services, retiring in 1997. She is a native of Whiteville in Columbus County, North Carolina, who can trace her ancestry in this country back to the early 1600s. She has a strong interest in history and is a member of: the Granville County Historical Society; the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Granville Grays Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy; the North Carolina Division UDC; the Murfreesboro Historical Association. Her interests include genealogy research, reading, fishing, camping, travel and the NC State Wolfpack. Please join members of the Granville County Genealogical Society in attending this meeting, to be held at 6:30 P.M. on July 1, 2021 in the conference room at the Richard H. Thornton Library in Oxford, N.C. All GCGS meetings are open to the public, and visitors and guests are always cordially invited to attend.
